and covers the workplace at:

1 Our statement of general policy is:
- To provide adequate control of the heath and safety risks arising from our
work activities;
- To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety;
- To provide and maintain safe plant and equipment;
- To ensure safe handling and use of substances;
- To provide information, instruction and supervision for employees;
- To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training;
- To prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health;
- To maintain safe and health working conditions; and
- To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.

2 Responsibilities
Overall and final responsibility for health and
safety is that of: Joseph Piner
Day-to-day responsibility for ensuring this policy
is put into practice is delegated to: Lucy Wilkinson / Patrick Goodfellow
3 All employees have to:
- Co-operate with site foremen and managers on health and safety matters;
- Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety;
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others e.g. fellow employees; and
- Report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person
(as detailed in this policy statement.)
4 Health and safety risks arising from our work activities
4.1 General risk assessment
- A general risk assessment will be undertaken by: Lucy Wilkinson
- The findings of the general risk assessment will be reported to: Joseph Piner
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by: Joseph Piner
- Responsibility for ensuring the action required is implemented rests with: Lucy Wilkinson
- Checking that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks will be done
by: Joseph Piner
This general risk assessment will be reviewed every 6 months or when the work activity changes, whichever is soonest.
4.2 Fire risk assessment
- A fire risk assessment will be undertaken by: Patrick Goodfellow
- The findings of the fire risk assessment will be reported to: Joseph Piner
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by: Joseph Piner
- Responsibility for ensuring the action required is implemented rests with: Arthur Dale
- Checking that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks will be done by: Joseph Piner
This fire risk assessment will be reviewed every 6 months or when the work activity
changes, whichever is soonest.
4.3 Manual handling risk assessment
- A manual handling risk assessment will be undertaken by: Patrick Goodfellow
- The findings of the manual handling risk assessment will be reported to: Lucy Wilkinson
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by: Lucy Wilkinson
- Responsibility for ensuring the action required is implemented rests with: John Shaw
- Checking that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks will be done by: Joseph Piner
This manual handling risk assessment will be reviewed every 6 months or when the
work activity changes, whichever is soonest.
4.4 Noise risk assessment
- A noise risk assessment will be undertaken by: Patrick Goodfellow
- The findings of the noise risk assessment will be reported to: Lucy Wilkinson
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by: Lucy Wilkinson
- Responsibility for ensuring the action required is implemented
rests with: Patrick Goodfellow
- Checking that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks will be done
by: Joseph Piner
This noise risk assessment will be reviewed every 6 months or when the work
activity changes, whichever is soonest.
4.5 Hazardous substances (COSHH) risk assessment
- The responsibility for identifying all substance which need a COSHH assessment
rests with: Lucy Wilkinson
- A hazardous substance risk assessment will be undertaken by: Lucy Wilkinson
- The findings of the hazardous substances risk assessment will be
reported to: Joseph Piner
- The responsibility for ensuring that all relevant employees are informed about the
COSHH assessments rests with: Lucy Wilkinson
- Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by: Joseph Piner
- Responsibility for ensuring the action required is implemented rests with: Lucy Wilkinson
- Checking that the implemented actions have removed/reduced the risks will
be done by: Joseph Piner
- Checking that new substances can be used safely before they are purchased will
be done by: Joseph Piner
This hazardous substances (COSHH) risk assessment will be reviewed every 6 months
or when the work activity changes, whichever is soonest.
5 Consultation with employees

6 Safe plant and equipment
- Equipment/plant needing maintenance will be identified by: Patrick Goodfellow
- Ensuring effective maintenance procedures are drawn up is the responsibility of: Patrick Goodfellow
- Ensuring that all identified maintenance is implemented is the
responsibility of: Patrick Goodfellow
- Any problems found with plant/equipment should be reported to: Patrick Goodfellow
- Checking that new plant and equipment meets health and safety standards
before it is purchased will be done by: Patrick Goodfellow
7 Information, instruction and supervision
- The Health and Safety Law leaflets are issued by: Lucy Wilkinson

8 Competency for tasks and training
- Training will be identified, arranged and monitored by:

9 Accidents, first aid and work-related ill health

- The responsibility for reporting accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences

10 Monitoring
To check our working conditions and ensure our safe working practices are being
followed, we will do the following:
- We shall take an active approach to this, carrying out inspections of all sites,
making reports of out findings and by carrying out spot checks from time to time
to ensure that all health and safety regulations are being complied with.
In the event of any accidents, we shall investigate the causes thoroughly and take
any action necessary to prevent any recurrence.

- The responsibility for investigating work-related causes of sickness absences
rests with: Lucy Wilkinson
- The responsibility for acting on investigation findings to prevents a recurrence
rests with: Joseph Piner
11 Emergency procedures: fire and evacuation
- Escape routes are: These will be identified at each site and notified to all parties
working at that site prior to commencement of any work.
These are checked by: Joseph Piner / Patrick Goodfellow Weekly
- Fire extinguishers are located: On each site. All workers are notified of the whereabouts of the fire extinguishers prior to commencement of work at any site
and a designated person is appointed to check the fire extinguishers on a daily basis.
- Fire extinguishers are maintained and checked by: Appointed person per site Daily
- Emergency evacuation will be tested every: 1 month
